marketing activities / wine events

In our winegrower calendar the intensive phase of the harvest is usually followed by the event season: The months of September to November are particularly popular with wine lovers - and are therefore packed with wine-related events: Here, for example, we support "Weinherbst" events or tastings for our customers in Tyrol.

autumn impressions 2022

Autumn 2022 was full of excitement: the harvest, the conversion and my attempt to capture the great atmosphere at the vineyard. A meeting with friends from Sweden, the splendour of the flowers between my vines and the sunsets. Between all the events and work, playing football is an important balance for me, which I have been practising since 1995. Here ... Read more

knitting in 2nd pass, "Ostutzn"

A few weeks after the first pass, the shoots are "knitted in" again in the middle of the summer heat. The long shoots now reach beyond the 2nd double wire so that they can be well supported by it after knitting in. Later, if necessary, these shoots are also shortened mechanically (= "Ostutzn") to prevent them from breaking off due to the ... Read more

update: Conversion part 2

While nature is bursting into life, the next highlight is also happening in Milchhausstrasse: The new windows have been delivered! An important step towards a modern tasting area, we are very pleased.

syringes

After the first spraying round in April, around 8-10 further spraying rounds follow at intervals of approx. 9 days. Depending on the "pest season", we use different biological spraying agents or additives, e.g. baking powder, compost tea, sulphur;.... By purchasing an "over-the-row sprayer", we are able to treat a row of vines from both sides at the same time, so that we don't have to worry about ... Read more

cane clearing & breaking out - 1st yield reduction

As the shoots of a vine grow not only on the pruned arches, but also in places that cost the vine unnecessary energy (e.g. along the "old" vine trunk), these unwanted shoots are removed (partly by machine, partly by hand) as well as weeds growing out of the ground (purely by machine). If the growth length is appropriate, intermediate shoots growing from the arches - ... Read more

growing greenery & spraying

Stefan Pratsch with soil in the vineyard

We use the awakening of nature around the month of March/April to support the nutrient balance of our soil: At this time, we sow carefully selected greenery in the vineyard - and thus also ensure that bees and other insects have the pollination they love. The first spraying is also carried out in April to protect the growing shoots from ... Read more

trade fairs & wine events

We use the larger wine fairs in particular, such as ProWein Düsseldorf, to build up an international customer repertoire and cultivate existing business relationships more intensively. It enables us to present our current range and to obtain opinions and new requirements from the various markets and to work on these. Participation in trade fairs or other wine marketing events is often also of ... Read more

We start with the remodelling!

Turning OLD into NEW - true to this motto and in keeping with the start of spring, we are getting off to a flying start at our winery. The parlour in the cellar is being transformed into a new, open tasting and sales area. It will be exciting to see the new face of our winery in the future!

inspections by BIO inspectors and winery inspectors

Stefan Pratsch with soil in the vineyard

Inspections by various authorities can occur at different times, but are carried out regularly, especially with regard to compliance with organic regulations. Two inspections by the winery inspectorate within the last 6 years also ensure that we comply with the legal requirements in the best possible way and are always up to date in this regard.

pressing, wine preparation, cuvéeing

Once in the cellar, the grapes are gently transported down a natural slope through the "Rebler" (where the grape pearls are detached from the stem) into the press. In our ultra-modern pneumatic press, the grape pearls are gently pressed so that only the best ingredients make it into the grape juice. We do not squeeze the grapes "to the last" so that the ...
